Includes
(1) Snout Soother 2oz/59ml Tin
Use two fingers to scoop a small amount and gently rub it into the nose. Or, for no-mess application, use a small beauty pad or low-absorbent cloth.
Recommendation: The more often you are able to apply Snout Soother to your dog’s nose, the better. To start out, we recommend applying at least 2-3 times per day, and especially before bedtime when bodies are at the peak of healing and regeneration. Once your dog’s nose is healthy, you can reduce the frequency of applications to maintain a beautiful healthy nose. It’s great for humans too – for chapped lips and any dry skin condition including eczema and psoriasis.
Tip: For best results, try to distract your dog for just a few minutes if possible. Give your dog a bone or favorite treat, go for a walk, play tug, belly rubs, or dab a bit of Snout Soother (or peanut butter!) on top of your dog’s paw so they lick their paw instead of their nose. This will allow time for the carrier oils in Snout Soother to work their magic and deliver those healing nutrients deep into the skin.
Distraction: Distractions are key! Using treats (peanut butter works great!), applying right before mealtime, or following with a belly rub are great distractions to allow time for the product to work it’s magic!
What can Snout Soother be used for?
Snout Soother nose balm for dogs can be used for the following:
How often should I apply Natural Dog Snout Soother?
The more often you are able to apply Snout Soother to your dog’s nose, the better. We recommend applying at least 2-3 times per day – especially before bedtime when bodies are healing and regenerating. Once your dog’s nose is healthy, you can reduce the frequency of applications to maintain a healthy and hydrated nose.
What do I do if my dog resists applying the nose balm to his nose?
Many dogs do not want their noses messed with because those tissues are highly sensitive – touching IS painful even if they don’t show it (Dogs are stoic by nature). Dogs also have many nerve endings in their noses. Imagine chapped lips – ouch! There are several ways of accomplishing this (depending on your dog). What we hear the most from our customers is to make sure your dog associates the application of Snout Soother as a “reward” – not as a negative or confining situation. Holding down or confining may not be the best option, either, as most dogs will resist or fear constraint. If you coax your dog with a FIRM, but gentle, approach (and sometimes treats), you should get a better response. You might try holding a food reward in your hand and let your dog get a sniff of it. As he is licking or nibbling the treat, try to carefully swipe a bit of Snout Soother on your dog’s nose. If your dog begins to associate yummy treats with getting something put on his nose, you should have a better response. You could also try tug toys or belly rubs – anything to distract your dog. Tug works well for many dogs and they will let you do just about anything to their noses with a tug toy firmly locked in their jaws. At that point, keeping the tug toy is way more important than worrying about anyone touching their nose. Don’t give up! They will finally end up with a healthy nose and be able to live pain-free.
WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF?
Natural Dog Snout Soother is 100% natural, safe and edible. Primary ingredients include nut oils and butters, which can be appealing to dogs, so they may attempt to lick it off. This is perfectly normal! Snout Soother will still work even if most of it is licked off. Though, for best results, we advise using distractions such as treats or mealtime to allow more time for the product to work it’s magic!
Does Snout Soother provide any sunscreen?
Several ingredients in Snout Soother contain natural sunscreen, including Kukui Nut Oil, Shea Butter, and Natural Vitamin E. This is ideal for dogs with light-colored snouts. Several customers with dogs diagnosed with discoid lupus have reported positive results as well. Snout Soother has an estimated SPF 9.
Can Snout Soother be used on cats or horses or other animals?
Absolutely! Snout Soother can be used on all animals – even humans!
What is the difference between Snout Soother and Snout Shine?
Snout Soother is a balm, while Snout Shine is oil-based. Both have excellent healing properties, however, some conditions require different benefits. Snout Soother, being thicker, will stay on the nose better when attempted to be licked off. It also has a natural sunscreen as well as other skin healing properties. Snout Shine, being oil-based, will seep into all the cracks and crevasses and work quickly to absorb into the skin. It also works as a nose gloss – great for photoshoots, dog shows, groomers, and anytime you want your pup to look it’s best!
The crust is falling off my dog’s nose. Is that normal?
Absolutely! Hyperkeratosis in dogs can cause a layer of painful dried skin on your dog's nose. Snout Soother and Snout Shine both work to penetrate beneath those layers and heal your dog’s dry nose. As a part of the healing process, bits and pieces will begin to fall off your dog's nose! Eventually, you should see a bright and shiny black nose coming through. But don’t stop applying as this period is critical to achieving a perfectly healthy nose.
My dog’s nose is pink underneath. Will the pigment return?
Every dog is different. Sometimes pigment returns in full, sometimes it doesn’t. Many customers have reported that Snout Soother brought back the pigment in their dog’s nose. The good news is the dry painful nose will be a thing of the past.

Charlotte the Miniature Poodle
Thank you for your cream . . . truly a miracle cream!! My dog’s nose was suffering from some kind of infection for about a month. I live in the desert and thought maybe she had been bit by something or the intense heat was affecting her nose. I had tried applying Neosporin, a natural dog spray, and saltwater . . . but with no good results. After one application of your cream, the crusty white stuff fell off Charlotte’s nose and it began healing. After one week, her nose looked almost completely healed. Thank you!! --- Helen Boek Borrego Springs, California
Henk the Bulldog
Ever since we received Snout Soother, we used it that night on Henk’s nose, and every day since -morning and night. I still cannot believe how quickly and efficiently Snout Soother has removed all that excess growth. I noticed on the third day, as I rubbed the nose balm in, the black parts of the growth were just falling off on my hand! So, this morning, just one week of using Snout Soother, his nose is now clear of all extra growths, and looks better than it ever has. Always, since he was a baby dog, he has had a very dry nose. I shall continue to use it of an evening, to keep that nose moisturized. Thank you, from me and the handsome Henk, for curing his nasal growth problem with Snout Soother! --- Owner: Andrea Albany, Western Australia
