WHAT'S THE ROLE?

Furchild is seeking a creative and imaginative storyteller who performs various functions of graphic design & digital video production from concept to completion. The content creator will create concepts and develop storytelling ideas whilst repurposing content for various platforms in a way that works best for the given audience (e.g., aspect ratios for social media channels). The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, multitask, and work on multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously.

This role represents a unique opportunity to own our brand's content strategy, grow and retain a passionate audience base, and in the process help dogs and dog people everywhere live their best lives.

It's a full time-time, in-house position. No part-time, freelance or agency work will be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ideating and storyboarding new concepts
  • Producing motion graphics and video content to accompany all marketing platforms
  • Graphic design and animation
  • Shooting high-quality video content in a studio and exterior environment
  • Shooting lifestyle themed images and videos of people, products and pets!
  • Localizing existing videos
  • Strategizing content and adapting it for all social platforms
  • Manage media assets and archiving all projects
  • The role will have an overlap with social media hence the person needs to have a clear understanding of cross-platform publishing and its media strategy

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A true "whole-brained" thinker with “visual intelligence” and doer with a deep understanding of how content across different platforms can build and grow a brand and adapt accordingly
  • A clear, responsive communicator, verbally and visually (design/photography/animation, videography skills are a must!)
  • Demonstrated flexibility in shooting and editing styles, for commercial, public relations
  • Extensive experience ('a pro') and skills ('a master') with Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Premiere Pro
  • Experience shooting mobile-first video content
  • Copywriting skills will be a great added advantage
  • Comfortable oscillating between big-picture strategy and in-the-weeds execution
  • Curious about new channels and tactics and how to apply them (or not) to our own content strategy
  • Passionate about dogs and dog health and constantly curious about new market trends, research findings, and customer stories and how they might translate into compelling content
  • Incredibly organized and a masterful manager of your own, and others’, time
  • Adaptable to different working styles, mindsets, and personalities, showcasing a willingness to collaborate with all
  • Experience collaborating on a team and taking creative direction from others as well as working independently to develop and make decisions about visual stories
  • Excited about proactively coming up with and implementing ideas (big and small) that will help grow our brand and audience
  • Attentive to detail with high standards of quality while maintaining an (authentically) friendly, positive attitude
  • Flexible and open-minded, but also have strong convictions and a POV that you can clearly communicate and defend
