What began as a mission to nourish our own dog, Maximus, with truly fresh, healthy food has grown into the most advanced and trusted pet food facilities in the region.

When we launched Furchild in Dubai in 2016, we set out to challenge the pet food industry with one belief: dogs and cats deserve to eat real food, made to the same standards as ours.

Now, with the opening of our new state-of-the-art kitchen in Dubai in 2025, we’re taking that belief to the next level, setting new benchmarks in safety, innovation, and sustainability for the Middle East’s growing fresh pet food movement.

Human-grade standards for pets

Around the world, pet food regulations often lag far behind those for human food. Instead of waiting for the pet industry to evolve, our team decided to take matters into our own hands and build a facility that already meets and exceeds those standards.

Our new kitchen is HACCP-certified, as well as ISO 22000 compliant. This ensures that every batch of Furchild food is prepared, monitored, and tested under the same conditions used in the production of human-grade food.

Every ingredient is tracked through a complete batch-wise traceability system, from supplier approval to final packaging.

This means pet parents can trust that what’s in their pet’s bowl isn’t just highly nutritious, it’s among the safest in the world.

Advanced technology that transforms

Every piece of equipment in our kitchen was chosen with one purpose: to make fresh feeding safer, fresher, and more consistent for pets, while making it more convenient for pet parents.

An inline inspection system, including X-ray and metal detection, verifies that every product leaving our kitchen meets the most rigorous global food safety standards.

Advanced freezing technology, featuring an 80-square-foot blast freezer that transitions freshly prepared meals from fresh to frozen within hours. This rapid-freeze process locks in nutrients, texture, and flavour while preventing ice crystals, ensuring each meal tastes as fresh as the day it was made.

A smart cold-chain monitoring system that keeps all raw materials between -18°C to 5°C from the moment they arrive until packaging is complete, with automated alerts ensuring full temperature control.

Precision preparation systems in mixer and depositor machines that portions and mix ingredients with a two cm to cm accuracy, maintaining balanced, optimal nutrition and consistency in every batch and meal you feed your pet.

A high-capacity industrial grinder, handling up to 600 kg per batch, designed for uniform texture and balanced recipes.

A thermoforming and vacuum-sealing line automated 20 ft machine that minimises handling, enhances precision, and preserves freshness with pre-printed film packs, ensuring every meal is perfectly sealed and branded in one seamless process.

A large-scale freeze-drying machine enables us to produce high-quality, shelf-stable treats and foods using cutting-edge pet food freezing technology, preserving raw nutrition while naturally extending freshness.

Antibacterial and antimicrobial flooring across all production areas, ensuring superior hygiene and preventing contamination at every step.

A temperature-controlled loading and unloading bay where trucks and delivery vans enter through sealed airlocks, maintaining optimal conditions during transit, which is a critical safeguard against heat exposure in a hot climate like the UAE.

Each machinery and system was sourced from European leaders in food technology, but what truly sets our kitchen apart is how we’ve integrated them into one seamless, purpose-built workflow, engineered for safety, quality, and scale.

Energy-efficient systems such as water cooling, controlled ventilation, and automated cleaning protocols ensure optimal performance while reducing environmental impact. From waste segregation to water conservation, sustainability is built into every stage of production.

This isn’t just a new production facility, it’s precision engineering on an industrial scale, designed to conserve energy and meet the region’s growing demand for fresh, real food for pets.

Our Quality Control Officers and Food Safety Supervisors manage daily audits, documentation, and training to ensure full compliance with ISO and HACCP systems. Our microbiologists oversee batch testing, while our production engineers and kitchen staff uphold the precision and hygiene that define our operations.

At the top, or as we call him, our 'top-dog', Co-founder & CEO Rob led this project from blueprint to completion, sourcing international expertise, building engineering partnerships, and assembling the world-class systems that make this kitchen possible.
